When Lisa Llewellyn started Llewellyn Communications in 2001, the media world was on the precipice of massive changes. Fast forward 15 years and LlewComm has just celebrated its 15th birthday. And while the media has gone through some major ups and downs, our boutique agency has flourished to where we now represent a range of national and international brands. We look back on where it all began – and the highlights that have helped shaped who we are and what we do.
The communications brief for the 15th annual Qantas Pathways Charity Flight was to help fill the 180 seats of a 737-800 aircraft for a VIP flight to Hobart with ABC radio presenter Simon Marnie and Gold-Logie-winning TV journalist Ray Martin. Suffice to say, it was a phenomenal success. The result was a packed plane and a great adventure for all concerned, bringing the total amount raised for this wonderful cause to a whopping $1.29 million since the first flight took off 15 years ago.
Michael Lyddiard was one of only 16 Queensland finalists nominated for the 2017 Queensland Australian of the Year Award and not only did we get to share his story with the public, but our team also learned a valuable lesson of what it truly means to have courage under fire. As one of his colleagues said: “His ethos has been to prove to his three kids that if something bad happens, you pick yourself up and overcome what life throws at you.”
The appointment of a new COO at Australian insolvency firm Jirsch Sutherland brought with it a new-found drive to build awareness of the firm and the specialist insolvency and investigation work they do – and the firm has partnered with LlewComm to help them achieve that. That we get to talk about professional sceptics and forensic accountants just makes it even more exciting.
